New Map, Gametype, and Widgets

For those of you still following the heroes update: (I know cgent already shouted it, but here it is for those of you who missed it)

~ New map called Midnight Mayhem, played with the new game type "V2 Vengeance" (aka king of the hill/territories)

~ Re-release of jetpacks that work with the jetpack widget - kinda fun and useful, but very expensive



The new game type isn't that bad actually - the map is very mediocre at best, but you can get tons of points since its such a small map. They also adjusted the out-of-bounds areas so that spawn camping is eliminated.

I played a round last night...the map seemed too small and centralized. The jet pack jump is useful tho expensive like you stated. I used it during battles when I needed to gain an advantage. I had the pack on my gunner and thowing barrels and rockets down from the sky was fun. You can also use it to get to high ground. It also allows the gunner to go very high in conjunction with his rocket jump.

i played for a bit last night and this morning as well. the new map is way to small (sniper heaven) i would maybe like to see the game mode on cc and vv. i think that the mode would work on those maps as well. didnt do any rocket jumping.

Just played the v2 map and it was pretty sweet, very one sided if you has a hacker like ranson on your team tho.

Anyways....
The map is pretty good as long as the teams are pretty even. Base boundaries keep it pretty good, eventhough it is quite open for sniper lanes. Too many snipers isnt going to make you win at all, but a good balanced team always puts up a fight. Experience gained from the maps is always pretty good ranging from about 1.5k all the way to about 5k.

Overall its nice to see them making a new map this time, and the new gametype makes for some interesting strategy. The jetpack is too expensive to buy for the low uses yet alone purchase for general pub play.

i think the new map v2 is royal friendly. iv never come close to losing a round when playing royal. but its hard as fuck when playing nats.

Ya I feel the same smelly, royals have plenty of area's for them to have a vantage point or places to hide where on nats side there really isnt anything at all.
