Maybe the school's decision wasn't the best, but come on if you have a high hispanic population at school, and you happen to sport out full US flag/colors on Cinco de Mayo, you are doing it to start something up. I'm sure those kids wouldn't wear all that on a regular school day.

I agree, but as long as the school doesnt have anything in their guidelines against wearing such t-shirts, they are not liable to act on it. In a country where free speech reigns, you can almost say or represent anything as you please. Now there is the case where it was disrespecting a holiday, and would thus need to be removed because of it. However being the flag of the nation you are currently living under, I see nothing disrespectful ever occurring. The school should not have taken the actions it did.

The kid's intentions were of no hate towards the hispanic community at the school as clearly stated in the video. End of story, start of possible lawsuit.

OK so they were not aloud to wear the shirts cause it might offend the Hispanics. I could see that, but what about the flip side of that coin. What about the white students who were subjected to "ethnic" dancers during their lunch period. Perhaps they did not want to participate. Were they offered another place to enjoy their meal. I dont know, but i would think not. I hate the double standard that is held up everywhere in this country.

Yeah like I said, I don't think the school's decision was the best, but saying that they wore that and didn't do it to start up something is a bunch of BS imo. I'm not saying wearing that clothing is bad just because your surrounding is of a different ethnicity. I myself being quite a Mexican don't like to listen to all that spanish folk music w/ the Folklorico dancing and such. I don't like mariachi or spanish band music.

Being that those kids were in High School and most of em didn't look like studious students, more like random high school guys trying to be funny.

Yeah I will give you that Caps, and if they did do it to start trouble or to be cool then they are asses. However its hard proving that you get into he said she said debates. Its fucked up, and even worse something like this needs to just not happen anymore. None of it matters. Let others do what they wanna do. It doesnt bother me none.

I will say this though out of all the people who have migrated to the US, and made it their home Latinos seem the most open in their retention of their heritage, and that is good. However when i see videos of 4th of July parades, and there is a large group of Hispanics waving the Mexican flag i just dont get it. Your an American now act American. It just seems different than immigrants who came over earlier they were proud to become an American forsaking their former lives for hardship, and a chance at the American dream.

I dont know It's just odd, and being i was born and raised here it is probably something i will never understand.

Here in hispanic heavy population, racial tensions are very very high. They may not have started trouble, but they were sure looking for it. They don't like complete idiots who didn't know the risks. Sadly it's the truth, not saying i'm biased towards the hispanic ppl on this one, but you gotta be smart.

It would depend. Lets say it is a Mexican national dressing in his countries colors going to a mostly white school in Mexico on the fourth of July.
